Our Bedroom (repurposing stuff) I've been trying to get our bedroom in some sort of order, I have piles of old bedding, sheets, furniture from other parts of the house and not so much moolah to make the bedroom of my dreams. I'm trying to put it all together with one cohesive look. Let's start with these blue grey walls we inherited when we moved in. I would be open to painting these walls if I even had a clue as to what I would want to pain them, so they are staying for now. The next thing that I have to consider is this green rug that we used to have in the living room, now it makes it's home in our room. What do I do with a green rug and blue walls? Accessorize with yellow maybe? That's the best solution I could come up with. Also, have you seen my porch it's accented with orange. It's hard to coordinate 2 rooms in one space. Paint: Grey Blue that we inherited Painting: A huge 5' wide painting that we've had in the living rooms at our old houses but no where for it to go in our new house. Main colors are yellow and grey Clock: I need to find a yellow vintage clock for a bedside table Pillows: Sunbird pillows from anthropologie (incorporates all the colors, orange, blue, green, and yellow) the other pillow is dwell for target rosette pillow. Bedding: Dwell studio for target Mandala bedding (yellow side out) Tray: From Crate and Barrel Bookshelf: To go the length of the white wall in our room, billy from Ikea with glass doors Eames Chair: Has lived all over our hose. Cowboy Boots in the Dressing Room Today's theme is dressing rooms. The caption reads: A eclectic blend of the flamboyant 1890s and the elegantly modern characterizes this boldly masucline dressing room. Simple furnishings and easily cleaned surfaces make this a room a no-nonsense male sanctum planned for comfort and easy living. The wallpaper, made from spongeable vinyl, takes its geometric motifs from old Portuguese tiles. Against the even pattern of the walls, solid blocks of color stand out: red for the cotton shag rug; black and white for the storgage unit; and amber for the diamond-patterned window, set like a jewel in the wall. The handsome black-laquered storage unit, accented with touches of gold, wraps around the wall to house a lavatory. One of the room's focal points is the gold-framed shaving mirror, a piece elegant enough to have come from a turn-of-the-century New Orleans mansion. The mirror is abundantly lit by two ceiling-hung fixtures that help to establish the Gay Nineties feeling of the dressing area. The prints on the wall and the modern brass statuette reflect the occupant's interest in horses and lend a touch of the Wild West to the room. A dressing room such as this one might be located in many small areas of the home--a closet, an unused corner of the master bedroom, a wide hallway, or a study all might, with a bit of carpentry, be transformed into a bachelor's lair.
